Rules of the Game

  1. The range shall consist of 18 "holes" or targets. The target is an approximately 5-inch rubber ball supported on an approximately 5-inch diameter ring suspended approximately 6 to 8 inches above the ground. The ball is located approximately 10 feet to the right of the flagpole.

  2. Equipment shall consist of one bow of one weight (compound bows of variable weight are considered one weight) and any arrows with a tip diameter of less than 1/2 inch. A second bow may only be used in case of equipment failure of the first bow. Sight in of equipment shall be done in designated practice area. Crossbows are NOT permitted on the course. Broadhead and Judo points of any type are not allowed on the course.

  3. During a shoot, each group shall have no less than 3 and no more than 6 shooters.

  4. No archer shall tee off until the previous group is done and well away from the green. The flag must be in place. Use caution on all shots!

  5. Tee off shot shall be made from any feasible position on an imaginary line, perpendicular to tee, running through the tee off yardage marker. Tee off yardages are approximate.

  6. Binoculars, rangefinders, and pacing are allowed provided they are used in a timely manner.

  7. All shots, other than the tee off must be made within 3 feet, any direction but forward of archer's arrow. On dogleg circles, archers must land arrow in circle or pierce plastic of circle before proceeding to shoot at ball.

  8. To hole out, ball must be pierced or knocked off stand. Please put ball back on stand in original spherical condition.

  9. In case of a lost arrow, the group  consensus shall indicate the position for the next shot. A penalty shot (point) will be assessed for the lost arrow. A maximum of 5 minutes is allowed to search for arrow. While searching for arrows, you must remove flag pole and leave one member of group visible. Archers may choose to move from an obstructed area (where the arrow was lost) to edge of fairway for next shot.

  10. The score shall be the actual number of shots taken to knock the ball from the stand. Any arrow fired must be scored. There shall be NO conceded shots.

  11. The champion shall be the archer who, in his/her division, shoots the lowest total score. Men shall shoot 36 holes for placement. Women, Seniors, Flatlanders, Juniors, and Cadets shall shoot 18 holes.

  12. In case of tie score, the winner shall be decided as needed by:
    - Most holes won.
    - The highest number of 1's, then by number of 2's then 3's, etc.
    - By score card sudden death.
    - A pre-selected tie breaker hole will be shot. One arrow by each archer tied. Shots are measured from the tip of arrow to stake. Shortest distance shall be the winner.

  13. During a shoot, all shooters on the course after 7:30 am MUST be registered and scoring.
